Earlier this year, the Canadian Truck King Challenge rated the Ram 1500 as the best truck in Canada, for the second year, despite a new GMC Canyon diesel and aluminum Ford F-150.
The Ram 1500 diesel was impressive in fuel economy, beating the smaller Ford EcoBoost V6 by 27% unloaded and by 29% when towing 6,000 pounds. The Ram also beat the Ford 3.5 EcoBoost — by 20% unloaded, and by 23% when towing. The F-150, while carrying nowhere near the economy of the Ram, does have a higher payload rating.
The Ford was, in fairness, hardly the most economical pickup tested. The best of the rest was the GMC Canyon Diesel, also sold as the Chevrolet Colorado. (...) →
